Our son Ebo Asare Chas Stevens was born at 5:45am on Monday, September 21 weighing 7lbs 8oz. Mother and baby are both healthy and happy.
Ebo's name honours both his parent's fathers—Ebo for Nana aba's father and Chas, a short form of Ian's father's first name, Charles. Ebo is a name normally given to a boy who is Tuesday born to the Fante people of Ghana. Although Ebo is not Tuesday born, we still wanted to honour his grandfather even if it meant not using the proper name for his day of birth, Kojo. Asare is a masculine version of one of Nana aba's mother's names.
